I’m looking for long term strategy for change in academic organizations.

Right now all I do is agitate and deal with issues as they arise, mostly concerning students where I can have the most influence.

But as a professor my work on committees and as the person constantly yelling about our equity issues — for students faculty and staff — I’m wondering what tactics besides what my therapist calls “tanking” really work?

There’s a huge conversation here to be had clearly but that’s what I’m interested in overall.

Excited to be here.

Hi! I’m all about neurodiversity and chronic pain and illness, and a few things that come to mind right now are accommodations for autistic people and/or those with adhd, different ways to see a workday and redefining productivity, and how to make it work when you have painful flare ups and appointments without looking like you’re not taking your job seriously.

Also, differences in communication throughout the whole neurodiversity spectrum.

Ergonomics and accommodations are super important for those of us with musculoskeletal disorders, and not being made weird by others for it.

I’m also interested in seeing how we can make the workplace more inclusive for everyone and truly have a culture where you can be celebrated for what you bring to the table, even if it isn’t measured in conventional terms.

Those are some that come out of the top of my head, please feel free to play with me and send me in the right direction if I’m a bit off topic! Thank you ☺️
